Michael
Schumacher has urged Ralf to take the time to heal
completely before making his return to F1, saying
he 'has nothing to prove' by coming back early.
|
Ralf
learnt earlier this week that his Indy GP injuries
were worse than he feared and that he'd actually sustained
two fractures to his spine. He was therefore advised
by his doctors to stay out of his FW26's cockpit for
at least the next eight to twelve weeks, which means
he may miss all but the final two races of the season. |
| The
injury comes at a bad time for Ralf who is still trying
to finalise his F1 future and chose which team he will
drive for next season. However, his older brother Michael
has told him to put all that aside for now and rather
concentrate on his recovery. |
| "I
spoke to him yesterday and he was in good spirits. He
was surprised at the news but now he can prepare in
the right fashion," Michael said. |
| "Everyone
knows he is a good driver, so he has nothing to prove
and he can take his time. I did the same after I broke
my leg in '99, only coming back when I was completely
ready. We are brothers so I guess we have a similar
approach. But we are only brothers, not twins!" |
