Belgian GP - Friday Free Practice
Michael said  “We  worked  on  improving  the set-up and the car was well balanced, Looking at the  lap  times things were not  too  bad.  The  Michelins  looked  strong,  but usually on a Friday, the McLarens run  with  a lighter fuel  load than us, so I am not really surprised.  I  am  not  writing them off but I was paying more attention to what the Williams were doing and we were quicker today. However, that does not mean we will  see  the  same  situation  tomorrow.”   He added  “Itwas really good fun and yet again it made me realise how special this  track  is,  When  you  are in a car you don’t realise how many climbs and  drops  there  are!  And it  reminded  me  of the first time  I went round it by bike and I relived the same feeling. It also  meant  I was able to have a close look at the changes  made  to  the Bus Stop chicane and they seem to be very good. Always  going  over the kerbs, you run the risk of damaging the suspension  and  tyres, shortly before tackling Eau Rouge at full speed. I  think  these  changes  are  a  step forward from the safety point of view.”
