2002 August News     Friday August 16th, 2002 Michael Schumacher donates to flood victims Michael  Schumacher will donate  One Million Euro to a fund created  to  help  people  affected  by  the  heavy  floods  in Eastern  Europe. The floods  have  also  affected  regions in the Germany, Austria, Russia, Czech Republic,  and  Hungary. Michael said  “The  pictures  I  saw made a strong impression. It  is  really  terrible .  I've  decided  to make a donation and I  hope  that  others will follow my example. People need help. I am  German  and  so  I want to give something back to those people  who  supported  us  for  many years and are our loyal fans . I  want  to give  what  I  can.” The programme  goes  out  this evening on Germany's main TV channel, ARD.
