| M. Schumacher,
R. Barrichello and Ferrari fined one million dollars |
|
|
|
| The International
Automobile Federation ( FIA )
hearing held in Paris this
morning has punished Ferrari and both drivers
for breaking podium protocol when M. Schumacher
allowed R. Barrichello to take
the winners position on the rostrum. |
|
The FIA
have fined the team and both
drivers a total of one million dollars with no point
reduction and no race ban.
|
| FIA said
in a statement "Schumacher
took the trophy for first
place from the Austrian
Chancellor, did not acknowledge
him, handed the trophy to Rubens Barrichello and
then took the second place trophy
from the Austrian Deputy Chancellor," |
| Half of
the million dollars is to be paid instantly to the FIA
and the other half is
to be held suspended for 12 months, meaning that
if Ferrari drivers do not break
the podium rules again in this
period then the fine will
remain at $500,000. |
